National Park Braulio Carrillo

The Braulio Carrillo National Park is the most extensive within the central region of Costa Rica. Its location gives it particular importance for the protection of aquifers. It has an evergreen forest vegetation, of great density and floristic complexity.

Most of the protected area is covered by a primary forest, where it is estimated that there are 6000 plant species, which represents half of the total species of the whole country. It also highlights a rich birdlife, represented by approximately 515 species of birds, residents and migrants.
